Hola, I am Dervla.

I am a secondary school Spanish teacher with 18 years experience.

I have examined the LC Spanish oral exams for over 10 years. I have corrected the LC, Higher Level written exam paper for a number of years and continue to do so.

I have taught the JC and LC revision courses in The Institute of Education, Dublin. I have been guiding students for years to excel in their exams.

I offer, small group classes with a maximum of 6 students so all students get individual attention and feedback. I provide excellent, comprehensive, H1 standard notes. I give strategies and tips on how best to approach each section of the exam.

I have excellent feedback from both parents and students and my students achieve great results. I look forward to supporting and guiding your child to achieve their best grade possible in the JC or LC Spanish exam.

    I am a certified Spanish teacher, born and raised in the heart of Spain . .

    My love for languages and cultures started early, and it has shaped not only my career but also my life. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for teaching Spanish, and since 2010 I’ve been helping students around the world fall in love with this beautiful language — whether at the Instituto Cervantes, in universities, or as an independent instructor.

    When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me dancing, exploring a new city, enjoying a countryside escape, or discovering local food spots (I’m a true foodie at heart!. I believe language learning is more than just grammar and vocabulary — it’s a gateway into the rhythms, flavors, and soul of a culture.

    I began my journey teaching in classrooms and lecture halls, as well as through early online lessons on Skype and Zoom.
